Khlong Saen Saep canal is a convenient artery running through Bangkok, and a lifesaver for commuters that would otherwise be stuck in endless traffic jams. The canal is connected to many other tiny canals within a large network. Besides its role providing transport through the city, during the rainy season when Bangkok regularly floods, these canals are extremely important to allow the runoff to go into the main river and finally into the sea. The Khlong Saen Saep Express Boat service operates fast and cheap transportation through Bangkok. The service carries about 60,000 passengers per dat and is operated by the Family Transport Company.
