Lake Ohnuma, Hokkaido, is part of the Ohnuma Quasi National Park. Ohnuma Besides Ohnuma, there are two other lakes, Konuma and Junsainuma with reflections of Mt Komagatake on the waters on a fine day. Note that there are nine other mountains in Japan with the name Mt Komagatake. This one is renowned for being a dormant volcano that awakens every few decades or so. Ohnuma Lake is a popular picnic spot from Hakodate, with steam locomotive choo-choo train rides Hakodate-Ohnuma, cycling around the lake and variously shaped bridges connecting the tiny islets on the lake.
