Jeepneys are a popular means of public transportation in the Philippines and were originally made of abandoned US army jeeps left behind after World War II. Jeepneys are known for flamboyant decorations and funny names given by their owners such as "One Love". They have become almost a symbol of Filipino culture and ingenuity. At the end of WWII jeepneys were stripped down, metal roofs were added for shade; and they were decorated with vibrant colors and ornaments.
