Coffee trees are perennial dicotyledon that belongs to the Rubiaceae family. The beans that grow from these plants are commonly called coffee cherries. There are different coffee species, but two main species are cultivated. Arabica coffee, accounts for 80 percent of the world's production and Robusta coffee, makes up 20 percent. The two differ in regards of taste and caffeine content.
