The Garden of Dreams, or Swapna Bagaicha, is one of the most peaceful, green and pleasant retreats in Kathmandu. Kaiser Shamser, a Nepali field marshal, built these gardens in 1920 adjacent to his palace following a tour of several Edwardian estates in England. Recently restored to its former glory, the Garden of Dreams now functions as a public park, with art galleries and a cafe bar to complete the tableau.
