Khao Yai was Thailand's first national park established in 1962. In 2005, Khao Yai National Park was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The rich diversity of plants with about 2,000 species give biodiversity a new meaning. Towering trees draped in moss, epiphytes, strangling figs, drooping lianas and rattan palms, delicate ferns, multicolored lichens and an array of fungi.
